EMV, ADA, & REG E: AN ADVOCACY UPDATE ON KEY ISSUES FOR THE COMING YEAR

David Tente, Executive Director, USA, LATAM, ATM INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (ATMIA)
Brenda Pino, VP, ATM/Self Service Channel, BMO HARRIS BANK

This session will take a high-level look at three of the most critical issues in the year ahead, including EMV migration; newly implemented ADA guidelines; and the Reg E requirement for dual fee notifications.  Recent events and current status of each will be reviewed, as well as what to look for in the months ahead.

The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) serves as an advocate for its members on these and many other issues.  As a group and as part of other coalitions, the association is able to influence outcomes, and help members navigate regulatory and technological changes.

Specific items to be covered include:

  • ATMIA EMV Readiness Survey
  • Creation of the EMV Migration Forum
  • ADA - Compliance is more than about avoiding lawsuits
  • Next steps for the House bill on Reg E fee sticker changes
  • CFPB consideration of new opt-in requirements at the POS
