Letter From the Editor of Collections & CreditRisk - Darren Waggoner
I'm very excited about the 16th Annual National Collections & Credit Risk Conference set for March 14-16 in New Orleans at the Hyatt Regency. I hope to see all of you there and get a chance to chat about business.
The timing for this show is perfect.
There's so much change taking place in accounts receivable management. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is running - and looming over the industry. New technology is coming at a quick pace and forcing critical decisions about what to adopt, where to spend.
And then there's this: The recovery is here. Many economists say it's been underway for awhile but not many of us seemed to be buying into that. But, now, many in the industry are reporting real signs that business is picking up.
At the show, be ready to hear from top industry experts. Our opening keynote is Cristian deRitis, the Director of Credit Analytics at Moody's Analytics. He'll review the overall economic and consumer credit outlook.
Other sessions include: "Bringing Collections Into The 21st Century"; a case study by U.S. Bank discussing unique communication solutions for collections; "Understanding TCPA"; "Identifying Fraud in Credit Portfolios Before Losses Occur"; "Leveraging Email, Texting, Web & Chat - Success Stories and Strategies to Improve Collections Effectiveness"; and much more - including technology showcases with live demos.
NCCR has a long tradition of providing superior conference content. This is where you go to learn new strategies for growing your business. This is where you go to hear from and talk with top creditors and insiders.
I hope to see you there. If I haven't met you, please stop me and say hello. I'll be at the Collections & Credit Risk booth during exhibit hours and at the sessions throughout the event. Or, please contact me ahead of the show so we can set up a time to meet.
While you're there, I encourage you to take advantage of the beautiful city of New Orleans.
It holds great personal charm for me. In March 1999, as a new editor on the Collections & Credit Risk team, I attended my first NCCR - also in New Orleans. It was my first trip to the city and I loved it so much that I proposed to my wife there five years later - the day after yet another NCCR in New Orleans.
It'll be great to be back. Looking forward to seeing you there.
