Vantiv Inc. has launched a mobile check deposit service for smartphones, the Cincinnati-based processor announced April 25.
The service, tested in pilot with Town & Country Bank in Salem, Mo., is available in the U.S. and more than 40 financial institutions already have signed up for it, Vantiv says.
Users of Vantiv's Mobile Check Deposit may leverage Vantiv’s Jeanie ATM network, which means there is no core integration required and the setup is quick and easy for both the financial institutions and their customers, Vantiv says. Additionally, all Jeanie cardholders automatically are eligible to apply for enrollment.
Vantiv was known as Fifth Third Processing Solutions until June last year (see story). At the time, the venture supported more than 400,000 merchant and financial-institution locations and 12,000 ATMs in 46 states and eight countries.
