Combase to Use Merchant Warehouse Genius Platform

Merchant Warehouse has announced that Combase USA has been certified as an integrated partner with the Genius ITX Customer Engagement Platform.

The platform accepts virtually any type of payment — including mobile and EMV — ensuring merchants never have to turn away paying customers and won’t find themselves saddled with outdated equipment, the companies said in a press release.

In addition, merchants can use the platform to execute targeted advertising campaigns, the release said.

The platform complies with Payment Card Industry data security standards, easing the compliance process for merchants.

"Today's customers have different mobile payment preferences and new mobile acceptance types continue to hit the market creating a difficult situation for merchants," Beth Williams, Combase marketing and business development manager, said in the release.

Integrating the Genius platform relieves merchants of the burden of choosing among those mobile payments options, Williams said.

"Genius ITX's integration with Combase's Korona.pos Cloud is poised to modernize the retail experience today and in the future," Henry Helgeson, Merchant Warehouse CEO, said in the release. "Genius is a scalable, flexible solution offering Combase customers a secure, scalable payments platform that will provide opportunities to grow with their businesses."

Merchants and consumers are more mindful of security than ever, but there is still much work to be done to educate them on how to protect account data and prepare for the shift to EMV-chip cards. Fortunately, the industry has help. The ETA, which recently appointed Wells Fargo exec Debra Rossi as its president, is welcoming more technology companies to its ranks to help members adapt to the shifting competitive landscape.
