Groupon CEO Mason to Stay After Board Meets to Discuss Tenure

PaymentsSource | Thursday, November 29, 2012

Groupon Inc.’s board is aligned with Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mason and has no plans to replace him, the daily deals provider said.

Directors of the Chicago-based company, which also offers a mobile card reader, were meeting Nov. 29 and discussing whether to seek new leadership, a person with knowledge of the matter said this week.

“The board and the management team are focused on the performance of the company and they are all working together with heads down to achieve Groupon’s objectives,” Paul Taaffe, a spokesman for Groupon, said.

Groupon shares fell in late trading after the statement.
