Merchant Warehouse announced it is adding a former VeriFone Systems Inc. executive, Greg Cohen, as chief revenue and strategy officer.
"Merchant Warehouse recognizes that the convergence of payments and marketing services presents exciting new opportunities," says Cohen, in a Feb. 27 press release. "Capitalizing on this has been challenging for many organizations but the Genius vision of a true mutli-channel commerce platform for merchants is a reality."
Cohen was VeriFone's senior vice president and general manager for commerce solutions. Because of this experience, Cohen will be in charge of expanding partnerships, commerce and payment opportunities with Merchant Warehouse's Genius Customer Engagement Platform. After months of testing the product, the Boston-based independent sales organization launched the product for general availability in late January.
"Merchant Warehouse is the only company that has taken the idea of a mobile payment acceptance platform from the whiteboard to the merchant countertop," says Henry Helgeson, CEO of Merchant Warehouse. "Greg's experience brings firepower to our team as we work to grow and scale Genius."
