To get to the Olympics this year, most people pay for tickets. One couple might get there by paying for a soda.
Visa is offering one consumer and a guest a chance to win tickets to the Olympic Games, as well as hotel accommodations and airfare, in a sweepstakes people enter by swiping a Visa card at a vending machine that uses USA Technologies Inc.'s payment hardware.
Participants enter by swiping a Visa credit or debit card at a vending machine that uses the USA Technologies ePort Connect network. The promotion runs through the end of August.
"With over 155,000 connections to our ePort Connect service, USA Technologies offers Visa credit and debit cardholders the opportunity to participate when making small ticket, 'every day' purchases, such as buying a cold drink, food or snack from a vending machine," said Stephen P. Herbert, USA Technologies' chairman and CEO, in a press release June 26.
"As we approach the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games, it's an exciting way to provide our customers with a program that adds value to the consumer experience," Herbert said.
