Gregory Norwood is a Managing Director within the Advisory Practice at Deloitte. Greg advises chief financial officers (CFOs), treasurers, and controllers on matters ranging from organizational design, process improvement, balance sheet management to investor engagement, and management. Greg also is a member of our leadership team for helping our clients develop and implement FASB’s new standard for the accounting for credit losses or CECL.

Greg joins Deloitte as a previous banking executive that has successfully driven strategic business planning and execution management at several financial institutions, while building/leading high performance teams, driving business performance, supporting acquisitions/divestitures, identifying improvement opportunities, and maintaining strong risk management principles.

Greg’s banking, accounting, and auditing experience was gained by managing through many of our country’s most difficult economic times. They include auditing financial institutions during the Southwest Thrift Crisis of the 1980s, working at the SEC during the 1989-1991 Northeast Banking Crisis, managing the Treasury Group at Wachovia during 2008, and as CFO of a mid-cap bank in the slow growth, low rate, regulatory environment post the Great Recession. He is familiar with the rule making process/effort from his work at the SEC and his experience as a Big 4 national office partner on commenting, interpreting, and then advising on the implementation considerations related to accounting rulemaking.

Gregory received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Northern Arizona University.
