Berke Baydu is a Director at Mastercard and manages EMV Contact and Contactless products in the North American region as a part of Mastercard’s Cyber & Intelligence Solutions group. He works closely with the industry and Mastercard leadership team to ensure readiness of Mastercard chip product for US market. Prior to his current role, he worked in Mastercard’s product delivery team, working with issuers and acquirers during the US EMV migration; in addition, Baydu worked on the creation of Mastercard Acceptance Partners framework, working closely with acceptance partners such as VARs, ISVs, Gateways and software vendors.

Baydu has over 19 years of experience in payments industry internationally. Prior to joining Mastercard, he worked in various positions in Garanti Bank, a major Issuer and Acquirer Bank in Turkey, managing chip payment and loyalty products, and leading Chip & PIN migration. He’s also worked for CoreCard, an issuer processor and software provider in US payments space. He has had three main focuses: EMV; emerging payment technologies; and traditional payment and acceptance products. He has also been a continuous participant of domestic and international standardization bodies during his career, providing thought leadership. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering.
