Kristy Carstensen is the Senior Vice President, Payments Group CFO of U.S. Bank. This is a new role to U.S. Bank effective June of 2018. In this role, Kristy is responsible for creating a function within the Payments organization focused on executing against a total Payments’ growth strategy, acting as a catalyst developing and aligning current state with longer-term business and financial strategy across the Payments organization. The centralized CFO function can elevate the effectiveness of financial reporting, clearly linking strategy to results and create effective and consistent communication tools between Payments and the Bank. Since joining U.S. Bank in October of 2011, Kristy has only held positions that represent new roles – she has come to be known for creating roles, building team and establishing value-added capability. These roles have includes Senior Vice President, Strategic Capital Management Executive and the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for U.S. Bank’s Community Development Corporation (CDC). Prior to the U.S. Bank, Kristy worked for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for eight years with her most recent role being the Vice President and Controller. Prior to joining the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Kristy was an auditor in public accounting with KPMG for five years. Kristy serves on the Board of Directors, for The Sanneh Foundation and also serves on the Young Women’s Taskforce for the State of Minnesota. Kristy recently rolled off the Board of City Garden Montessori school. Kristy is a Certified Public Accountant. Kristy is also the mother to 3 beautiful children; she and her husband maintain busy lives as they desire deep and strong connections to each daughter’s passions and activities through volunteerism and coaching.
