Electronic payments provider ACI Worldwide inked a nine-year extension to service 24,000 ATMs across the U.K. for VocaLink, the country’s payment infrastructure provider.

Naples, Fla.-based ACI provides electronic payments and banking services for more than 5,000 financial institutions retailers, billers and processors.

In the U.K., the company says it will leverage its ATM technologies with those of VocaLink to provide services to the country’s cash machine network and aid deployers of any type of ATM.

The companies' ATM managed services enables VocaLink’s customers to offer enhanced capabilities to their ATM end-customers, including ATM helpdesk, ATM location database, ATM switching, international card networks and mobile phone top-ups, the companies stated in a Nov. 25 press release.

“VocaLink has an accomplished history in the management of ATM estates,” Paul Thomalla, senior vice president and managing director of ACI Worldwide in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, states in the release.

In addition to ATM services, ACI provides software for payments processing, card and merchant management, online banking, mobile, branch and voice banking, fraud detection, and electronic payments.

Earlier this month, ACI completed its acquisition of e-billing provider Official Payments Holdings.
