Adobe is moving forward with the next phase of integrating acquired e-commerce platform Magento into its broader marketing services by rolling out Magento Payments next year.

Magento Payments will leverage PayPal’s Braintree for payments processing through an existing partnership, with PayPal supporting online payments acceptance in local currency around the world, according to Andy Barker, Magento’s head of payments. Adobe closed its $1.6 billion purchase of Magento earlier this year.

The new service will include a guarantee against fraud protection via Signifyd, with merchants able to manage payments and reconciliation through a single dashboard.

“We’ve created an easier, enhanced payments system for e-commerce merchants around the world enabling them to offer the most advantageous payment method in virtually any market, without the need to do manual reconciliation for different local payments providers,” Barker said.

Magento hopes to eventually add other payments providers in local markets to give merchants more options.
