EBay's Magento e-commerce application for retailers has integrated Airtag software to allow those retailers to expand into mobile commerce.
Airtag, a Paris-based company, builds white-label software-as-a-service technology for mobile ordering and payments.
More than 150,000 retailers currently using Magento will now have access to Airtag's Airshop software, allowing consumers to make purchases from the Web, smartphones or tablets, Airtag states in a May 7 press release.
Adding Airshop to the Magento native application for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry provides merchants with a mobile wallet that allows advance ordering and payments, Airtag states in the release.
In addition, Airshop provides marketing features such as mobile loyalty, location-based coupons, geo-fencing and product recommendations. Cloud-based reporting tracks consumer data to help retailers develop digital strategies, Airtag says.
"Magento is the most widely used e-commerce platform," Jérémie Leroyer, CEO and co-founder of Airtag, says in the release. "For all retailers starting to think about how they are going to go mobile, we have created a solution that significantly eases the transition to digital commerce, without sacrificing the user experience."
Last month, Airtag announced it had developed a mobile payment system for Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises in the U.K.
