American Express Co. is the latest to add voice controls for card services via the Amazon Alexa digital assistant, inching toward a more intuitive shopping experience with a feature enabling credit card customers to browse for deals and offers through the service.
Consumers with an Alexa-enabled device may connect it to Amex’s mobile app and access limited-time offers with a voice command on devices such as the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, Amex said in a recent press release.
Customers also may use Alexa to check account balances, review recent charges and make a payment, according to Amex.
“Our card members are redefining how they engage with our brand across the digital platforms of their choice, and we want them to have great experiences wherever they are,” Luke Gebb, Amex’s senior vice president of enterprise digital, said in the release.
Capital One was the first major credit card provider to announce account management services with Alexa.
