American Express has created a new cobrand credit card for consumers who shop through its Plenti loyalty program.
Announced in March, Plenti is a loyalty program offered by a host of retailers including AT&T, ExxonMobil, Rite Aid and Macy's. Amex's U.S. Loyalty division manages the program, including rewards and marketing.
Plenti members use a loyalty card at participating stores or online to earn reward points. The new cobrand card additionally allows Plenti members to earn one loyalty point for every dollar they spend.
Plenti will also become part of the American Express Membership Rewards program, according to the May 4 announcement. This will allow consumers to convert their American Express reward points into Plenti points in set increments.
Plenti's participating merchants also include Food Lion, Harris-Teeter, ShopRite and Wegmans.
