Apple Inc. is exploring ways to bring Apple Pay to India, according to reports.

On a visit to India last week, Apple’s senior vice president of internet software and services, Eddy Cue, said the company “absolutely” wants to bring Apple Pay to the local market, according to the Economic Times.

It’s unclear exactly how Apple Pay will fit into India’s existing payment systems.

“We want to launch Apple Pay here, but we don’t care about the mechanism itself,” Cue reportedly said. “If you think about it in U.S. terms, we don’t care if it’s Mastercard, Visa or whatever bank you deal with. If you’re in China, we don’t care if it’s WeChat or Alipay or a credit card … What Apple Pay does is make that process easy, integrated and safe.”

Cue unveiled two Mac Labs at the KM Music Conservatories—one in Mumbai and one in Chennai—that will focus on teaching students to create music using Apple products.
