Wireless-payment services company Apriva says it has certified the MEI Easitrax unattended payment terminal for use on its network. Made by West Chester, Pa.-based MEI, the device accepts payment cards and cash. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Apriva says 22 of its vending customers already use the device. Apriva's certification means Apriva will provide device activation, merchant-account setup, data reporting and support for the device. Bill Clark, general manager of Apriva's Secure Payments division, tells CardLine sister publication ISO&Agent Weekly his company is working with a large, undisclosed acquirer to reach merchants. Apriva studied the unattended-payment market for about 18 months before deciding to enter it, Clark says. "The market seems prime for maturing," he says. Additionally, Apriva has certified Way Systems Inc.'s way5000 payment terminal for use with Apriva's Intelligent Gateway services.
