E-Pay Australia Ltd., a subsidiary of United States-based Euronet Worldwide Inc., says it has signed a deal to provide prepaid products at convenience stores operated by petrol retailer Caltex Australia Petroleum Pty Ltd. The deal includes mobile prepaid cards, calling cards, gift cards and prepaid Internet services, e-Pay says in a statement. Euronet has a prepaid processing network of 394,000 point-of-sale terminals deployed at 193,000 retailer locations across 14 countries. The deal comes after the apparent collapse of Australia-based payment network and card firm Bill Express Ltd., a Euronet competitor (CardLine Global, 10 July). "The Caltex win is a good example of how we're taking advantage of shifts in the competitive landscape within the Australian prepaid market to secure our prepaid leadership position in the country," a Euronet spokesperson tells CardLine Global.
