Bank of America Merrill Lynch has launched a new user interface for Works, the institution's online program management tool for commercial card clients in the U.S. and Canada.
The new design updates workflows and data presentation, and adds additional search and filter capabilities.
The upgrade requires no data migration or systems conversion. Clients can use existing log-in credentials. Access to the new interface will be phased in beginning this month with current Works clients, and Bank of America will include Web-based and instructor training, educational videos and other online features.
Bank of America's Works has more than 225,000 active users, and manages card account sign up, spending controls, account approvals, reconciliation and expense reporting for purchasing cards, travel and entertainment and ePayables, which is Bank of America's online accounts payable tool.
The new user interface is part of larger improvement program at the institution for commercial cards. For example, Bank of America launched an automated PIN service in the fall of 2012. In addition to commercial cards, Bank of America is using mobile card acceptance to aggressively pursue business clients.
Other companies are also expanding commercial and corporate card technology. Commercial payments tech provider AOC Solutions upgraded its mobile technology to allow access from any mobile device—a move to address the "bring your own device" trend for corporate employees.
