Electronic commerce services provider Billeo has purchased Swag.io, an e-commerce platform provider that allows companies to place purchase links directly into social media posts.
Billeos products include ZipThru Buy, which connects online shoppers to a comparison shopping engine, social media site or mobile shopping application.
"The combination of Swag.io and Billeo ZipThru Buy now is changing the game by converting liking and sharing to instant buying right within Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest," said Wally Smith, Billeo's CEO, in a press release.
Swag.io has more than 3,000 storefronts featuring more than 2.6 million products for Facebook communities.
Billeo joins other companies that are placing payments within social media feeds. Getonic, Dwolla, Chirpify, Ribbon, Patreon, Flattr and American Express all offer systems that allow consumers to initiate payments from Twitter, Facebook or other social media sites. Companies such as ZooZ take a different approach, placing purchase links within mobile ads.
