BillMyParents, which provides a prepaid card for teens, announced that it has appointed William Hernandez as its president.
Hernandez has been a member of BillMyParents' advisory board since April, the company said in a Nov. 27 press release. He was most recently president and chief executive of Confier Consulting Group. He has also held positions at Epana/Unidos Financial, First Data, MasterCard and Citibank.
BillMyParents provides a prepaid card account with parental controls. The company's name comes from an earlier payment product that sent parents "bills" to approve before their kids could complete a purchase online.
"There is tremendous potential for us to quickly ramp our business not only based upon our current products but also through expansion into new geographic and demographic markets," said Mike McCoy, BillMyParents chairman and CEO, in the release. "William Hernandez is the ideal person to execute on these growth initiatives. He has deep industry experience and has led new market initiatives at some of the top companies in the payment industry."
