Consumers with Bopo prepaid cards in Australia must use or withdraw their remaining balances by 15 Aug., warns Australia-based financial-services firm Cuscal. The firm issues the Visa-branded card with Australian payment network Bill Express Ltd., a company facing bankruptcy (CardLine Global, 10 July). After the 15 Aug. deadline, Cuscal will start its own initiative to pay unclaimed funds to cardholders, David Heine, Cuscal's general manager for products and operations, tells CardLine Global. He declines to say how many cards Cuscal issued with Bill Express. The firms introduced the Bopo card nearly two years ago, and consumers have made at least 1 million Bopo transactions since then (CardLine Global, 25 Jan.).
