Interac, Canada's sole debit card network, and the Houston-based Pulse electronic funds transfer network this afternoon announced an agreement that will enable Diners Club, Discover and Pulse cardholders to withdraw cash from participating ATMs throughout Canada beginning in October. Riverwoods, Ill.-based Discover Financial Services owns Pulse, Discover and Diners Club. Interac's agreement with Pulse expands international access to Interac as it forms relationships with networks from outside of Canada, Mark O'Connell, president and CEO of Acxsys Corp., Interac's architect, notes in a news release. Additional details, such as fee information, were not immediately available. The release also did not say whether plans are in the works to extend Interac acceptance to any of Discover's networks.
