Capitol Federal Savings Bank will upgrade its ATM network with new NCR Corp. SelfServ units that allow consumers to deposit cash and checks simultaneously through a single slot.
Starting in early 2013, Capitol Federal will provide customers 69 new ATMs with the NCR scalable deposit module technology, NCR announced Dec. 4. In addition, the Topeka, Kan.-based bank plans to install NCR's ATM security software, Solidcore Suite for Aptra, which protects units from insider attacks and prevents unauthorized code from entering a network.
With the scalable deposit module, a typical consumer transaction of five bank notes and two checks can take less than 60 seconds to deposit, NCR says. The Duluth, Ga.-based ATM manufacturer announced in early 2011 that its scalable deposit module was attracting interest from larger banks in need of the technology.
"Capitol Federal makes it a priority to connect with our community in a variety of ways, which is why we wanted to provide the latest self-service options for our customers," Frank Wright, senior vice president for Capitol Federal Savings Bank, stated in a press release.
"We believe our customers will find the speed and ease of use of these new ATMs will make cash and check deposits even easier at the ATM," Wright said.
