Cash Connect, a Newark, Del.-based company that manages armored car cash deliveries for ATM independent sales organizations, Tuesday reported an increase in the number of clients the company has serviced. As of August, Cash Connect was managing 10,625 ATMs in the United States, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, Cash Connect spokesperson David Crossan tells ATM&Debit News, a CardLine sister publication.  Cash Connect issued a news release to celebrate surpassing the 10,000-client milestone, Crossan says.  At the end of 2008, Cash Connect managed 9,143 ATMs. In 2008, Cash Connect funded ATMs with $5.4 billion in cash, Crossan says. "That was the total sum of all the cash orders for all the ATMs," he says. "I don't have a figure for 2009, but with the addition of new customers I expect there will be increase in funds." He attributes the customer growth to ATM ISOs deciding to outsource management of cash deliveries. "We are not an armored car service, but we manage cash deliveries and reconcile cash orders," he says. "This enables the ATM ISO to employ fewer people." Wilmington, Del.-based WSFS Bank owns Cash Connect.
