The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Friday announced several changes to its senior management team.

Leandra English was named chief of staff, a position that had been vacant since July. English had been a principal deputy chief of staff at the Office of Personnel Management, where she also served as chief of staff and senior advisor to the OMB's deputy director of management.

English worked at the CFPB early on in various leadership roles, including as deputy chief operating officer, acting chief of staff, deputy chief of staff and deputy associate director for external affairs.

Jerry Horton was name chief information officer. Horton had worked at the State Department, leading the Office of the Chief Architect for the department's global information presence. He had been the chief information officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development and held the same role at the U.S. Mint, in the Treasury Department.

Paul Kantwill was named assistant director for Servicemember Affairs, succeeding Holly Patraeus, who announced her retirement in August. Kantwill previously was the Defense Department's legal policy expert on the financial industry. He had served at the Pentagon as the director in the Office of Legal Policy, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel & Readiness. Kantwill served in Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf, and has had a 25-year military career as an active duty officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps.

John McNamara was named CFPB assistant director of consumer lending, reporting and collections markets, a position he had been serving in an acting role. McNamara had been the CFPB's debt collection program manager. He has 30 years' experience in debt collection and had been the chief marketing officer at LiveVox, a provider of cloud contact center solutions, and was a president and CEO of Fidelis Recovery Solutions.

Elizabeth Reilly was named chief financial officer. Reilly was one of the CFPB's first employees in 2010. She previously served as deputy chief financial officer and before joining the bureau was a program examiner and acting branch chief at the Office of Management and Budget.
