JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Chase Card Services on July 12 announced a new cobranded Visa card with Intercontinental Hotels Group, giving new cardholders two free hotel nights with their first purchase and at least one free night annually thereafter.
The Priority Club Select Visa card, developed with input from members of Intercontinental Hotel Group’s Priority Club Rewards loyalty program, enables cardholders to earn points redeemable for hotel stays, gift cards and merchandise.
New cardholders will receive 30,000 bonus points after their first purchase, good for two free nights. On each annual anniversary, cardholders will receive a certificate good for 12 months that is redeemable at all hotels in the Intercontinental chain.
Cardholders may earn five points per dollar spent at Intercontinental’s hotels, two points per dollar spent elsewhere on gas, groceries and dining, and one point for every dollar spent elsewhere on other types of merchandise and services.
To encourage rewards-point use, the program also provides a 10% rebate to cardholders on all points redeemed.
The card’s $49 annual fee is waived for the first year, and cardholders pay no foreign transaction fees. Besides the Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, other brands in the chain include Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Candlewood Suites, Hotel Indigo, and Candlewood Suites.
