Citigroup Inc. has appointed Jud Linville CEO of its Citi Cards credit card business. He replaces Paul Galant, whom Citi named CEO of a new unit called Global Enterprise Payments.
Linville will report to Manuel Medina-Mora, CEO of Citi's Consumer Banking for the Americas. He will be a member of the Executive Committee, serve on the Global Consumer Banking Council and head the Global Cards Council.
Linville previously was president and CEO of American Express Co.'s U.S. Consumer Services operations, where he oversaw the Consumer Card Group, Membership Rewards, the Consumer Travel Network and Prepaid Services Group on a worldwide basis. Linville also led the AXP Interactive union and managed all of AmEx's marketing, service, cross-sell and acquisitions through Internet and e-mail channels.
Galant had been in charge of Citi Cards since April 2009. In his new role, he will oversee the design, marketing and implementation of business-to-consumer and consumer-to-business payments products for large, global corporations and financial institutions, as well as governments.
