Coinfloor Bitcoin Exchange has appointed former Credit Suisse commodities executive Adam Knight as executive chairman and investor.
The London-based Coinfloor's efforts to become a trusted Bitcoin exchange provider will benefit from Knight's experience in managing accountable and trustworthy financial institutions, the company said in a July 11 press release.
Bitcoin has survived "some pretty significant shocks," that prove the digital currency "is far more robust than I had initially expected," Knight says in the release. "After seeing Bitcoin severely tested and yet continue to grow, I decided to start allocating a proportion of my savings to Bitcoin and began looking for Bitcoin infrastructure companies to invest in."
Knight was previously Managing Director of the team that built and managed the Credit Suisse, Glencore Global Commodities Alliance, a global commodity derivatives trading business. He was also a managing director in the fixed-income department of the investment banking division of Credit Suisse. Previous experiences also include running the global metals trading business at Goldman Sachs.
Knight serves on the board of trustees for the Roundhouse Trust; is a co-founder and board member of Social and Sustainable Capital LLP, a social investment fund manager in the UK; is a member of the investor committee of Dawn Capital LLP; and an active angel investor that focuses on early stage London tech companies.
