Brookhaven, N.Y. will use a variety of technology products from Creditron to streamline tax payment processing.
The Long Island community will replace remittance and receivables management systems with Creditron's ItemAge Express product, and will also install new hardware to process payments delivered via the mail or received in municipal offices.
The software will allow municipal staff to deposit municipality checks electronically to JPMorgan Chase, Brookhaven's bank, while newly deployed scanners are expected to help increase the speed and accuracy of the county's remittance processing and improve information reporting.
The upgraded solution will be integrated with Brookhavens Official Payments credit card processing tool and will allow users to deposit checks electronically.
The upgrade will enable Brookhaven to reduce its overall remittance processing costs and enhance service to taxpayers, said Wally Vogel, founder and CEO of Creditron, which has also recently developed new technology to boost its presence in the health care payments market.
