Visa Inc and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have partnered up for an exciting promotion this summer available across the Middle East and Africa whereby Visa cardholders can enjoy unrivalled benefits across several participating IHG properties in the region. When guests book online and pay with their Visa card at any IHG participating hotel they will automatically be offered a complimentary room upgrade with breakfast as well as one hour free internet access per stay. The promotion will run till 30th September at selected hotel properties across the Middle East and Africa – Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express – targeting both leisure and business travellers to the region this summer. “We are excited about our new partnership with Visa, who, like us, has a reputation for high standards and quality service, and we look forward to supporting a long standing relationship with them going forward” commented Haitham Mattar, Director of Sales and Marketing, IHG Middle East & Africa. “We share a similar client base and believe this initiative will deliver real benefits to our customers as well as drive online booking, which is faster and more convenient,. When booking online, our customers will receive IHG’s best flexible rate, which is the lowest internet booking rate available – if a customer finds a lower internet rate, then IHG will match it and that is our guarantee.” Priority Club Rewards (PCR) members who take advantage of this offer will receive further value by obtaining PCR points when booking with one of the participating properties. The points can then be redeemed for a range of great rewards, such as store vouchers or free hotel stays at some of the most recognized hotel brands in the world including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Today the award winning PCR is the largest loyalty programme with 37 million members globally, and best of all, subscription is complimentary. Norliza Kassim, Head of Marketing, Visa Middle East and North Africa, said: “Visa continuously strives to enhance travel and entertainment experiences by offering added value rewards to our growing cardholder base. Visa is committed to providing cardholders more value out of their holiday and experience the convenience of paying with card rather than cash. “This is our first year partnering with IHG, one of the leading hotel groups in the world, and we are excited to be offering our cardholders the opportunity to experience and spend time at participating IHG properties across the region.” “The strength of both brands will be further enhanced through this partnership, creating additional product and brand awareness by consumers as it will entice them to use their Visa card more regularly as well as experience IHG’s famous hospitality with three of our most popular brands,” added Mattar. “Additionally, and in a more business related sense, the promotion will drive new business and revenue to Visa and IHG, which is key to the growth of both brands in the region and globally.” There are 25 hotel properties participating in seven countries, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon and Egypt. Visa card holders wishing to book and take advantage of this offer can log onto www.ihg.com quoting the special Visa code on their booking VIS, or they can contact IHG’s Central Reservation Office for each country. The promotion will be running throughout the summer and is valid until 30 September 2008.
