Alberta's government used Datacard Group's instant card issuance system to provide funds to residents who evacuated their homes following flooding in southern Alberta.
Alberta's flood assistance program provided funds of $1,250 per affected adult and $500 per child on prepaid cards.
"Our thoughts go out to all those that were affected by the massive flooding in southern Alberta," says Mike Vaselenak, Datacard's financial instant issuance manager for Canada, in an Aug. 5 press release. "It's very important that the citizens got the help they needed right away, and as a native Calgarian, I am very proud that Datacard Group could respond so quickly and assist Alberta to provide the resources needed to help their citizens."
Alberta used Datacard's CardWizard issuance software and its CD820 hardware for printing and personalization, the vendor says.
