Diebold Nixdorf's merchant acquiring strategy includes a truck loaded with its latest ATM and point-of-sale solutions that will visit 50 U.S. cities as part of the company’s first-ever mobile marketing tour.

The Canton, Ohio-based company’s Big Rig Experience Truck contains four “experience zones” to demonstrate new hardware including next-generation ATMs with iris scanning, cash register-free stores and the newest self-checkout solutions, and software to harvest and analyze data in real time, Diebold Nixdorf said in an April 10 press release. The tour begins today in Dallas.

A centerpiece of the demonstration will be Diebold Nixdorf’s new Essence banking concept modeled on the small-screen experience of smartphones and tablets, with touch-screen controls enabling consumers to swipe, scroll and zoom in to conduct and manage transactions.

“As innovation makes connectivity stronger, faster and more personalized, Diebold Nixdorf is leading exciting transformations in how consumers interact with retailers and financial institutions” said Octavio Marquez, the company’s senior vice president and managing director, The Americas.
