Direct Auto Insurance now offers customers the ability to pay their bills with a text message, allowing customers without smartphones to pay their bills on the go, too.
Users can text their monthly payments to the company either one day before, and up to three days after, the bills due date without accruing late fees. Direct Auto Insurance will also send customers text messages reminding them of payments.
Approximately 56% of American adults own a smartphone, including many of our customers, says John Mullen, president and CEO of Direct Auto Insurance, in a Nov. 26 press release. As we continue to seek more convenient ways for our customers to make payments and lower their rates, one of the best solutions was to bring these options directly to our customers through their phones.
Customers with smartphones can make bill payments with one-click through the DirectDrive app, available for both iOS and Android operating systems.
The app also uses a smartphones sensors to measure driving behaviors. Every trip is scored and logged in the apps history, which can then be used in 13 states to compete against other drivers on the DirectDrive leaderboard.
The company recently rolled out 18 Direct on the Spot kiosks, which allow consumers to get an insurance quote in less than a minute and stay up to date on payments with either cash or credit.
