Discover Financial Services has promoted Julie Loeger to its chief marketing position for U.S. cards.
Loeger immediately succeeds Harit Talwar, who had been with the company for 15 years. Loeger was previously Discover's senior vice president of brand and customer acquisition, and will now lead marketing for Discover's cards in the U.S. Loeger came to Discover after a stint in marketing at Anheuser Busch.
"Julie's knowledge of the business and understanding of consumers have enabled us to gain market share by bringing relevant offers to market," said Discover president and chief executive Roger Hochschild in an April 30 press release. "Her contributions and perspective will be invaluable to us."
