dLocal adds Google Pay to its e-commerce marketplace
Payments provider dLocal has added Google Pay, allowing merchants in emerging markets to accept the digital wallet.
The addition strengthens dLocal's Marketplace Payments platform, which it established three years ago to support a one-click payment method for online shoppers.
“In the past couple of years, consumers have increasingly used Google Pay to make online purchases,” Rodrigo Sánchez Prandi, vice president of product at dLocal, said in a Tuesday press release. “With today’s news, our e-commerce partners can now offer a faster and easier checkout experience, decreasing 'time-to-buy' and increasing conversion across multiple emerging markets in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa.”
“Our experience shows that offering consumers the flexibility to pay online with the payment method of their choice greatly increases the chance of completing the purchase,” Sanchez added.
dLocal says more than 450 e-commerce retailers, software-as-a-service companies, online travel providers and marketplaces use its platform to accept more than 300 local payment methods and to issue millions of payments to contractors, agents and sellers in growth markets.
