Web and mobile bill payment service provider doxo now supports Apple Pay as a payment option.

“Most of our users’ bill payments each month originate from their mobile devices, and half of those are using an iOS device," Steve Shivers, CEO of doxo, said in a Thursday press release. "So, Apple Pay has been a highly requested feature for its convenience in simplifying and securing payments.”

Doxo users have had the option to use the doxo app to pay their bills since the company added that technology seven years ago, but Apple Pay marks the first wallet option on the platform.

"Many billers, individually, struggle to keep up with the pace and breadth of payments options," Shivers said. "Simply by joining doxo’s national payment network, billers will benefit from our continued expansion of payment choices, without having to manage the complexity, integrations and expense themselves.”

Doxo users pay their bills from any device with a single login, and also have the choice of paying by credit card, debit card or bank account. Each payment is covered through doxo's payment account protection, meaning the user never has to disclose payment account information to each individual biller.

Seattle-based doxo says it currently serves more than 2.5 million users making bill payments to 45,000 local and national businesses.
