E-Cash, an ATM network operator in Bangladesh, reportedly has started final negotiations on a partnership with ATM network Cash Link Bangladesh. Officials from both E-Cash and Cash Link offered no immediate comment on the status of negotiations, which were reported in the Daily Star, a newspaper based on Bangladesh. The paper quotes an E-Cash official as saying negotiations have been ongoing for more than a year but that the deal has been delayed as Cash Link's owners work on the structure of the company. Five banks established Cash Link Bangladesh, with Dhaka-based AB Bank, which holds a 30% stake in the venture, serving as the leading partner. In March, Cash Link said it had signed a deal with United States-based Euronet Worldwide to deploy more than 500 ATMs by 2010 in Bangladesh. Nine banks backed the establishment of E-Cash in 2001.
