Easycash Loyalty Solutions GmbH has signed an agreement to provide software for electronic payments in the mobile hand-held terminals of taxis in Belgium.
Hamburg, Germany-based Easycash, an Ingenico SA company, will provide the payment software in the Ingenico terminals used in the fleet of Taxis Verts of Brussels, the largest taxi company in Belgium.
Paris-based Ingenico announced June 6 that the Easycash software, already in place in the taxis, enables passengers to use Easycash debit and other payment cards on the company’s iWL250 mobile-payment terminals in the fleet servicing the capital city of Belgium.
Easycash also serves as a payment-processing unit for Ingenico.
The taxi company contemplated an electronic payment system inside the taxis for nearly a year, Taxis Vertis CEO Michel Petre noted in a press release.
“We had to find a partner who could understand the specific organization of our fleet and allow us to implement the system quickly,” Petre said. “Easycash was perfectly suited for us and the Ingenico terminal’s versatility.”
Easycash first expanded its offerings into Belgium in mid 2011, the company stated.
