Elavon, Societe Generale to expand European payment services
Global payments provider Elavon has established a new partnership with Societe Generale for payments acceptance and acquiring services throughout Europe.
As a financial services provider in Europe, Societe Generale will now have access to Elavon's cross-border payments capabilities for its business clients in the U.K., Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
Atlanta-based Elavon, the payments unit of U.S. Bancorp, will support electronic payment acceptance from payment cards, digital wallets, alternative payment methods and real-time bank transfer capabilities.
This will complement Societe Generale’s established payments infrastructure for in-store and e-commerce services in France.
“We are extremely pleased to be chosen as a Societe Generale payments partner across Europe," Colin Close, country manager for U.K. and international corporate for Elavon Financial Services, said in a Thursday press release. "Elavon brings the expertise of working with international businesses to facilitate cross-border operations in the U.K. and the continent."
Elavon offers a full range of payments solutions to leading international businesses across more than 30 countries in Europe, Close added.
Those services include Elavon’s omni-commerce payment solution, which offers businesses the ability to accept payments in any environment needed, including in-store, mobile, mail/telephone order and online.
“Elavon’s comprehensive service capabilities across Europe will give our clients access to best-in-class service and innovation in payments," Aurelien Viry, global head of payments and cash management for Societe Generale, said in the release.
