EMerchantPay Group Ltd. is partnering with WorldTicket to provide smaller airline operators an easier way to accept and process online payments for plane fares, the online payment processor announced March 19.
The partnership allows London-based eMerchantPay’s airline clients access to advanced online payment acceptance and processing capabilities combined with Copenhagen, Denmark-based WorldTicket’s online-based ticket sales and seat-reservations system, eMerchant stated in a press release.
Previously, airline personnel may have operated a system with various technologies to approve a merchant account, or they initiated payments with a processor, the press release stated.
The partnership provides airlines the capability to offer online payment processing at any time in virtually any language, currency or payment method, the release said.
In addition, the eMerchantPay system provides airlines fraud and risk monitoring that complies with Payment Card Industry data security standards to thwart unauthorized transactions, eMerchantPay stated.
Startup airlines benefit from the eMerchantPay service by quickly establishing a payment-acceptance system, while more established airlines would increase sales with payment acceptance in more than 150 world currencies, the release noted.
"This is an ideal solution for small and midsize airlines because it provides an undisputed competitive advantage with little to no implementation effort," Lasse Meilsoe, WorldTicket CEO, stated in the release.
Jonas Reynisson, eMerchantPay chairman, contends the partnership makes processing online payments far less complicated for the airlines.
"Large-scale, worldwide online payment processing can be complicated and confusing for a new market entrant and even for mid-tier carriers," Reynisson stated in the press release. "Together with WorldTicket, we are able to provide a seamless [option] that takes care of all the details so these airlines can remain focused on core aspects of their businesses."
