The e-commerce and point of sale card processor eProcessing Network has enhanced its services with the addition of Level III data processing functionality.
The Houston-based company said this week that Level III card processing enables more data points to be transmitted across its online, mobile and PC-based payments gateway, allowing its customer base of small-to-midsize businesses to better manage their corporate and government accounts.
The data points required for Level I (consumer-facing) and Level II (business-to-business) card payments can be transmitted using traditional processing methods. But the additional data points required for Level III processing, including details like item commodity code, item description, item quantity and tax rate, requires additional software to handle the transaction.
The company offers its technology and services through independent sales organizations and other resellers, which eProcessing Network said allows it to collaborate with industry participants and enhance the B2B e-commerce experience for commercial and high-ticket transactions.
With the enhanced data points, merchants pay lower transaction fees on government-to-business and certain business-to-business transactions and their customers gain the ability to monitor corporate card activity and receive line-item details of purchase descriptions.
