ATLANTA - Convergent, a large, diversified business process outsourcing, revenue cycle and receivables management company, announced that Michael G. Meyer has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for the Outsourcing Group. Derek A. Pickell, president of Convergent Heathcare, has added the title of Chief Executive Officer for the Healthcare Group. Both will report directly to the Convergent Board of Directors.
Pickell has nearly 30 years experience providing revenue cycle outsourcing, professional services, and information system solutions to hospitals and physicians. Prior to joining Convergent, he was a senior manager in the Revenue Management Solutions division of McKesson.
Current Convergent CEO Michael A. Micek has announced his decision to retire from his day-to-day operating role effective January 1. He will remain both on the company’s board and as a part-time employee with a focus on financial and regulatory issues.
During his five years as CEO, Micek expanded the company’s Outsourcing, Receivables Management and Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management businesses, including improvements to the company’s technology and operating processes and a 30% increase in the number of Convergent call centers. He also was instrumental in the creation of the Contact Center Solutions division, which offers world-class voice, IVR and online contact solutions and is a natural extension of Convergent’s work with its utility clients over the years.
Lowell Group, a leading United Kingdom debt purchasing specialist, announced that Oliver Betts will join its senior management team, filling a new role as director of new ventures.
Betts, beginning next Monday, will report directly to Dicky Davies, Lowell Group’s business development director. Betts joined TDX in 2006, initially directly managing debt sale transactions before taking management responsibility for the TDX debt sale business.
He has a track record of building long term strategic partnerships with creditors by creating solutions to address their specific debt challenges, having spent two years leading business development for TDX in the financial services, utility and telecommunications sectors. He is currently director of group product strategy and marketing.
