Global testing laboratory FIME is opening its first office in China to meet demand for Chinese payment vendors expanding globally.

The new facility with testing laboratory is located in Shenzhen, serving needs of payment terminal vendors, system integrators, service providers and operators developing advanced payment offerings such as cloud-based technologies, FIME said in a Monday press release.

“Digital payment and secure identity technologies have developed significantly in China over the last 10 years, and the market is set to grow and diversify,” said Lionel Grosclaude, FIME CEO, in the release.

“More and more of the world’s technological and business model innovations are happening here in China…we are right now where we need to be to help our customers and partners to improve and expand their own schemes, while aligning with international standards to increase their global presence,” added Leo Jiang, FIME’s country manager for China, in the release.

FIME, which has also supported testing for China UnionPay QuickPass in France and Taiwan, was the first lab outside of China to participate in CUP’s QuickPass testing program.

France-based FIME also has offices in the U.S., Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India and Dubai.
