Former Citigroup executive Deborah Doyle McWhinney is joining the board of engineering company Fluor.
McWhinney left her position as Citi's head of global enterprise payments in January to accept the role at Fluor, though she did not identify her destination by name at the time of her departure. Her work spearheading advances in Citi's mobile and health care payments earned her recognition as one of PaymentsSource's "Most Influential Women in Payments" and as one of American Banker's "Most Powerful Women in Banking." She was also known for her work as co-chair of the bank's Citi Women initiative, a networking program for female employees.
Before joining Citi in May 2009, McWhinney was president of Schwab Institutional, a division of Charles Schwab that serves independent investment advisers. She also spent 17 years at Bank of America in corporate and retail banking.
