General Motors has unveiled a feature, called AtYourService, to complement its OnStar in-car assistance service by providing retail-oriented features to drivers.
OnStar, which fields more than 35 million voice direction requests according to GM, will now also provide deals and retailer information relevant to a vehicle's destination. Drivers will also be able to book hotels and buy audio books.
"On the heels of our 4G LTE connectivity launch last year, OnStar will continually roll out powerful, simple ways to bring daily-relevant connected vehicle features like AtYourService to complement our foundation of safety and security technology," Mark Lloyd, consumer online officer for OnStar, said in a Jan. 4 press release.
Dunkin' Donuts, Priceline.com, Audiobooks.com and third-party coupon providers have already signed on as partners. OnStar is a subsidiary of General Motors.
