Giftango International will manage and deliver all of Park Group PLC’s e-gift cards and other digital prepaid products to more than 6,000 of Park’s corporate customers under an agreement announced June 20.

United Kingdom-based Park Group is the brand behind flexecash, a secure UK prepaid payment system. By developing its virtual gift card system with Giftango, Park Group now may offer consumers the ability to receive “flex e-gift,” the digital version of flexecash through email and SMS text messaging on their smartphones, according to a press release.

Recipients may view digital gift cards by printing them from a PC or by displaying them at the point of sale on their smartphone at the time of redemption. The flex e-gift product will be redeemable at a wide range of the UK’s leading retailers later this summer, the companies said in the release.

The flex e-gift digital gift card also will be available for retailers to private label as a proprietary retailer-branded digital gift card. Because flexecash is connected directly to many retailers’ POS systems, those already accepting flexecash and flex e-gift may brand the flex e-gift product with their own brand, and consumers may redeem the digital card just like the flex e-gift product, according to the release.

Park Group’s private-label prepaid card system supports the issuance of the Love2shop gift card, a prepaid version of the multiretail paper gift voucher, Love2shop–the high street gift voucher. Giftango will power all eGift cards used within the Love2shop network, the companies said.

“Giftango allows us to offer our corporate customers and partners a fully customized digital gift card experience–one that fits their own brand, with their own logo, just as they would get with traditional plastic or physical gift card services,” Chris Hartley, Park Group business development director, said in the release. “The flex e-gift digital gift card allows for an instant gift delivery and redemption.”

Earlier this month, Shopkick Inc. chose Portland, Ore.-based Giftango Corp. as its delivery engine for digital gift cards (see story).  And in October, Giftango expanded its ordering interface so online retailers may sell both virtual and physical cards (see story).
