The College of the Holy Cross is adopting a campus card program to let students, faculty and staff spend, on and off campus.
The Worcester, Mass., college, a client of Heartland Payment Systems Inc., said the Crusader OneCard will let students make copies at campus copiers, make purchases at vending machines and pay for laundry and access dining services on campus.
The card can also be used off campus at some merchants in Heartland's Give Something Back Network.
"Heartland's platform offers students more integrated and convenient services for our … program," Art Korandanis, director of the college's auxiliary services, said Monday of the Princeton, N.J., payment processor.
Most college students already use a single card to gain access to various campus facilities and services, and many of these programs also let people make purchases in school bookstores. Holy Cross plans to issue more than 4,000 cards.
