Hewlett Packard Co. has developed payment software-as-a-service to help merchants reduce the scope of Payment Card Industry data security standards compliance and improve business processes, the business technology provider announced March 19.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett Packard offers its North American merchant clients the Secure Payment Services software to provide tokenization of payment and personal data and storage in an HP data center, the company noted in a press release.
The system targets larger merchants for payment-data security and health care providers and manufacturers for payment and customer personal data, Hewlett Packard stated.
“Increasing regulatory and compliance requirements, while necessary for data protection, are time-consuming and expensive,” Mark Boelens, general manager, HP Enterprise Services’ Global Financial Services Industry, stated in the release. “With Secure Payment Services, HP provides security and data center management expertise as a cost effective alternative to up front infrastructure investments.”
