CenPOS has integrated Ingenico terminals into its could-based payments platform, a move that's designed to enable both mobile payments and EMV-chip card acceptance at automotive dealerships and other specialty merchants.

CenPOS' payment platform and Ingenico's iSC250 devices will capture PIN debit entry and secure electronic signatures, which CenPOS stores on the merchant's behalf. CenPOS also supports encryption, which helps reduce the merchant's scope for compliance with the Payment Card Industry data security standard.

CenPOS has a national network of more than 1,200 auto dealerships. The company has deployed the iSC250 devices across "multiple" auto dealerships and plans to add more locations this year, CenPOS said in an August 7 press release.

Ingenico is also managing its migration to the EMV standard in the U.S. through partnerships with Heartland Payment Systems and Avant-Garde to deliver terminals that accept payments from chip cards.
